Welcome to Paraconda!
What is Paraconda?
Paraconda was born out of a desire for unique, high-quality gear for my psychiatric service dog. Frustrated by the lack of durable options, my partner and I seized the chance to create our own.
Since our launch in September 2021, we’ve poured our creativity into crafting top-notch dog collars, leashes, and accessories. With an array of colors, styles, and sizes, each piece is 100% unique and handmade. We’re dedicated to ensuring every creation exceeds your expectations.
Whether you’re dreaming up a custom order or browsing our collection, we’re here to bring your vision to life. Thank you for supporting our small business, and we look forward to creating something special just for you!
(Note: Custom orders are crafted upon request. We’re happy to provide progress photos upon request.)
Did you know that grooming your dog is about so much more than just making them look cute? ✨ There are so many benefits beyond the surface!
Regular brushing is one of the best things you can do for your dog. It removes tangles, dead hair, and dirt while preventing matting, especially for breeds with longer coats. While some dogs aren’t fans of brushing, with patience, it can become a bonding moment you both enjoy!
Grooming time is also a great chance to check for any health issues like fleas, ticks, rashes, or hotspots. The more you groom, the easier it is to spot problems early. 🦠
And we all know how much dogs shed! 🐾 Regular brushing helps remove loose hair before it ends up all over your house, keeping your furniture cleaner and everyone happy!
But grooming isn’t just about brushing—it’s also about taking care of your dog's paws. Trimming their nails is crucial to avoid painful overgrowth, which can lead to joint issues or sores. With some practice and the right tools, your dog can learn to tolerate—or even enjoy—nail trims!
Don’t forget their teeth! Just like you wouldn’t go around with unbrushed teeth, your dog’s teeth need care too. Keeping their teeth clean can prevent dental issues in the future.
Depending on your dog’s breed, you might need to do other grooming tasks like ear cleaning, coat stripping, or scissoring. If that sounds overwhelming, a professional groomer can help!
Making grooming part of your routine isn’t just about looking good—it’s about keeping your dog healthy and comfortable. Keep it up, and your dog will thank you with wagging tails and lots of love! 🐶❤️

Different Ways You Can Keep Your Dog Mentally Stimulated From Home 🧠
Keeping your dog mentally stimulated is just as important as physical exercise. A tired dog is a happy dog, and mental stimulation helps reduce anxiety, curb destructive behavior, and keep your dog engaged. Here are some fun ways to mentally challenge your dog from home:
1. Lick Mats / Snuffle Mats
Lick mats and snuffle mats are fantastic for keeping your dog entertained. Spread them with tasty treats, peanut butter, pureed veggies or fruits, or even frozen wet dog food. (Just make sure whatever you use is dog-safe!)
Pro Tip: Freeze the lick mat for extra long-lasting fun! 🧊🍓
2. Hiding Treats (Indoors or Outdoors)
Dogs love using their noses! Hide treats indoors by scattering them or under furniture. Or, turn your backyard into a “nature’s snuffle mat,” hiding treats in bushes, trees, or in the grass. It’s a scavenger hunt for your dog! 🐾🔍
Bonus Tip: Use small toys or items in place of treats to keep it interesting.
3. Training Sessions
Training isn’t just for puppies! Short 5-15 minute sessions a few times a day to practice commands or tricks can really engage your dog’s brain. It’s like a workout for their mind! 🐕🏫
4. Tearing / Shredding (With Supervision)
Let your dog channel their inner “destroyer” by giving them a safe item to shred. Cardboard boxes, old newspaper, or designated toys work great. Supervise them, and only give them safe items to tear apart!
Tip: Hide a treat inside the cardboard or toy for extra fun! 🧻🐕
5. Toys
Rotate your dog’s toys to keep them fresh and exciting. Puzzle toys are perfect for stimulating their brain, while interactive play like tug-of-war or fetch provides both mental and physical exercise.
By keeping your dog mentally engaged, you help ensure they stay happy and healthy—even indoors! 🐾💡

Did you know that a wagging tail doesn't always mean your dog is happy? Tail wagging can signal a variety of emotions—not just happiness! 😁
Here’s what a dog’s tail might be telling you:
🤩 Happy & Excited: A fast wag with forward ears and loose muscles usually means the dog is excited, happy, and eager to see you or explore. Their whole body might wiggle along with the tail!
😢 Uncertainty or Nervousness: If the wagging is slow or the tail is tucked low, the dog might be feeling unsure or anxious. This can come with wide eyes that have lots of white, tight lips, and ears that are tense. They may be trying to communicate that they’re not entirely comfortable.
😠 Aggression or Warning: A tail held high and stiff with a slow wag could be a sign of a warning. Twitching lips, tense posture, and raised hackles can be other signs to watch out for. The dog might be on alert and this could lead to aggression. ⚠️
😱 Fear: If a dog’s tail is wagging but is tucked under their body, they may be feeling fearful or submissive. This is their way of trying to show you they don’t pose a threat but also may not want to be approached. 😟
A wagging tail is just one piece of the puzzle. Its better to observe a dog’s posture, facial expression, and overall behavior to truly understand how they’re feeling.
By learning these subtle cues, we can better communicate with our pups and create a stronger bond based on mutual understanding. 🐶💕
